Cordyceps is a unique kind of mushroom that in the wild grows, mostly, on insects of one sort or another. These days it is grown on grain (in this case organic brown rice) and once all of the grain has been consumed by the mushroom mycelium it is harvested and dried.  Studies have shown the cultivated Cordyceps to have higher concentrations of active components.
